Tessellations Explained

"Tessellation" is a captivating interplay of shapes and colors that draws the eye. The term "tessellation" evokes notions of symmetry, precision, and artistic complexity, making it the perfect word perfect for describing unique and high-end patchwork pillows.
My venture into making Tessellation pillows was sparked during a visit the Bennison showroom in New York. Gregg Mitchell, the manager, shared a vintage photo of a patchwork pillow, reigniting my childhood passion. It was a nostalgic moment for me, as 35 years ago, I started my pillow-making business by creating and selling patchwork pillows.
Each pillow is crafted through hours of meticulously piecing together fabrics to form a harmonious design, respecting the direction of the pattern, warp, weft, and nap.
